Meet our Faculty

A teacher together with her studentsOur trained and experienced staff will provide a compassionate and nurturing child care experience for you and your children while guiding young learners through classroom and life experiences. Our teachers meet mandatory state and licensing requirements for screening and background checks to ensure your little one’s safety and your peace of mind.

All staff are required to have Early Childhood Credentials, CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogens training as well as a minimum of an additional 20 hours per year of training in areas such as Child Growth and Development, Curriculum, Health and Safety. Our staff members serve as role models for Early Childhood students in the area from Coastal Carolina University, Horry Georgetown Technical College, and the Academy for Arts and Sciences. We work hand and hand with the colleges to allow their students to experience high quality care first hand. Traditionally our staff attends the S.C. Early Childhood Conference each year with approximately 1200 other Early Childhood Professionals!

Administrative Staff

Donna Jensen-Owner/Director

Donna Jensen is our owner and director. Born and raised in Colonia, New Jersey, she attended Kean College majoring in Elementary Education in 1981. She relocated to Conway, SC with her husband Jeff in 1987. Mrs. Jensen is the proud mother of four sons, Jeffrey who is married to Lauren , Jason who is married to Stephanie, Jacob & Jordan. She is a grandmother to Levi born in October 2016 to Jeffrey and Lauren.  She is an active member of Newspring Church volunteering in many areas. Her career working with children began in high school. She was an in home family childcare provider from 1987- 1993. In 1993 she founded St. James Child Development Center in Conway where she was the director until April, 2000. In May of 2000 she opened Gymboree Play & Music in Carolina Forest and began a small preschool program, which quickly outgrew the facility and moved to Waccamaw Blvd. where The Learning Station was born! After outgrowing the Waccamaw Blvd. location The Learning Station moved to Singleton Ridge Rd in April of 2006. With over 30 years in the early childhood field, making a difference in a child or parent’s life is one of the most rewarding experience she has had.

Jeff Jensen-Owner/Facility Manager

Jeff was born and raised in NJ, relocating to SC in 1987. He is married to Donna Jensen and has four sons, Jeffrey, Jason. Jacob and Jordan and 2 daughters in law Lauren and Stephanie. He became a grandfather for the first time in October 2016 to Levi. After working for the US Postal Service for over 20 years, he began working at Carolina Forest Community Church as their Facility Manager. He worked there for 7 years, before venturing out and starting The House Dr. Handyman Business. He joined The Learning Station Staff in March of 2011 Full time as our Facility Manager. Mr Jeff loves to make the children laugh with his vast array of voice impersonations!

Jessica Brittingham- Infant/Toddler Director

Mrs. Jessica moved to South Carolina about a year ago with her husband and two children from Richmond, VA. After having children she decided that helping children and families was where her passion was, so she started attending University of Phoenix majoring in Human Services Management, and upon moving to South Carolina she obtained her South Carolina Credentials. She has worked in the Early Childhood Education field for 7 years and loves to watch the children grow and develop wonderful loving personalities. She cherishes the fact that she is able to play a part in the lives of so many children. In her spare time she enjoys spending times with her family, volunteering at her church as a Preschool Leader, and just enjoying all the blessing that God has provided.

Jennifer Bowen – Preschool Director

Brandi Duncan- 4K Director

Brandi has an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Liberal Arts, with 110 credits towards her BA in Elementary Education & Psychology.  She owned and operated Peace of Mind Child Care in NY, before moving to SC and working as the director at Kindercare and Gateway Academy. She has been with The Learning Station since July of 2009 first as a teacher and now as our Preschool and School Age coordinator and curriculum specialist. In her spare time Brandi enjoys running, reading and spending free time with her family-husband Randy and children Dean, Bailey and Dylan.


Infant and Toddler Department

Rhenan Harvey-Infant Teacher

Rhenan moved from Calvert County, Maryland in 2003 to Myrtle Beach.  She is married to Brian and has twin sons Bryce and Jacob.  She has worked with children since moving to the beach and has been with The Learning Station since September of 2006.  She has her Early Childhood Credential, is CPR certified and receives over 20 hours per year in Early Childhood Training.  In her spare time she loves being with her family, friends and animals.  She loves to cook and sew and spend time at the beach.  It makes Rhenan extremely proud to see her babies in her classroom reach important milestones in their development.  She knows the difference she is making in their lives each day.


Codi North-Discoverers Teacher(SCPITC Teacher Mentor)

Codi is from Front Royal, Virginia and graduated from Warren County high school where she began her experience in childcare. She went on to Lord Fairfax Community College to pursue a degree in Language Arts for Children. She has completed several seminars including “Creating Spaces for Infants and Toddlers”, “Enhancing Infant and Toddler Care”, and “Medication Administration Training”. In her free time, Codi enjoys walking her dogs and spending time with her husband.

Kayla Green-Adventurers Teacher (SCPITC Teacher Mentor)

Ms. Kayla came to TLS during her year of student teaching with the Academy in Myrtle Beach.  After graduating she began working full time and has grown with The Learning Station since then becoming one of our SCPITC Teacher Mentors.  Kayla’s hobbies include dancing and swimming and she enjoys music, dance, and fashion.  Her mission is to always be her best self. to keep an open mind, heart, and ears to everyone that she encounters and to always but God first.


Twos and Threes Department


Keshia Bellamy-Jones-Preschool 3 Teacher

Mrs. Keshia has worked with young children for over 7 years, 4 of those at TLS.  She is also a VBS teacher, Sunday school teacher, and youth supervisor at her church.  She gives her time to the sick and shut in by preparing baskets for them.  She also enjoys reading and baking and spending time with her family.  Her motto in life is to “be the change in the world that she wants to see.”

Nikki Rush-Preschool 3 Teacher
Natasha Sulton- Preschool 3 Teacher

Natasha is currently a student at HGTC focusing on Computer Technology and Early Childhood.  She has been in the early childhood field for two years.  She enjoys going to the movies, spending time with her kids and friends and cooking.  Natasha is a military baby born in Okinawa Japan. She moved to Florida when she was 3 months old and came to SC in 1993.  She has three children, Isaiah, Jukobe and Tiara.

PreK and School Age Department

LaDonna Stewart-Preschool 4 Teacher

LaDonna graduated from high school in 2001. She has attended many years of DSS training in the field of early childhood education. LaDonna is also Red Cross CPR and first aid certified. LaDonna has been with The Learning Station for five years and has taught all the different age groups. LaDonna has done volunteer work in a nursing home as well as volunteer with a kitchen for the needy. In her free time, LaDonna enjoys spending time with her four children; Katavis, Cortez, Jayon, and Jasmyne.

Courtney Blackburn- 4K Teacher

Courtney is currently working on her paralegal degree to become a child advocate.  She has been working with children since she was 17.  She loves doing at home projects with crafts, hair, makeup and working with children.  She loves time spent on the beach and learning about new things. Her home town is Marion, SC. She is married to Anthony and is expecting a baby boy in August.  Her husband served in the USMC and she is a proud military wife.  Family time is the most important thing in life. Every moment counts.

Shay Brown- Kitchen Coordinator

Amanda Darden-Physical Education Teacher

Amanda received her M. Ed. in curriculum instruction and her B.S. in health and physical education from Radford University. Amanda currently teaches instructional leagues for Horry County Parks and Recreation and physical education classes here at The Learning Station.
